GETTING TO DUBLIN – BY PLANE
Dublin Airport is served by 43 airlines with direct scheduled services to 110 destinations. Particularly well served are almost every European city, and major North American centres. Most European destinations are within two hours’ flying time of Dublin. Aer Lingus provide a shuttle service to London Heathrow, travelling time is approximately an hour, thus providing connections to all the long-haul flights, which arrive there. Paris CDG, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt each have multiple daily connections to Dublin.
All you need to know about travelling to and from Dublin Airport is available at www.dublinairport.com. The airport is conveniently located approximately 10 km north of Dublin city centre. It is served by a large number of buses, coaches and taxis all allowing you to get to and from the airport with ease.
Aircoach, a privately run bus service, operates between the airport and a number of city hotels and locations.www.aircoach.ie
Airlink (bus 747), operated by Dublin Bus, will bring you directly from the airport to Busaras, the central bus station, located in the city. www.dublinbus.ie
It is also possible to get to Dublin by ferry via Holyhead, Liverpool and Isle of Man ports in Britain. Dublin has two ferry terminals – Dublin Port, located in the city centre, is serviced by bus and Dun Laoghaire Ferry Terminal, south of the city, is easily reached by a 20 minute car, bus or DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) train journey.
GETTING AROUND DUBLIN
An extensive public transport network serves Dublin. This includes intercity trains, the DART, Dublin Bus services and a light rail network (LUAS). Airlink is an express service to and from Dublin Airport and Aircoach is a privately-run 24-hour dedicated bus service connecting a number of city centre hotels and locations with Dublin Airport.
VISAS AND PASSPORTS
All nationalities visiting Ireland require valid passports. Visas are not currently required of EU nationals, EFTA nationals, or USA, Canadian or Australian nationals. Information on nationalities requiring a visa may be obtained from any Irish Embassy or Consulate or Irish Tourist Office and online HERE.
Please note that it can take 6 to 8 weeks to process a Visa Application and early application is recommended. Please also note that the Irish Organising Committee, or its agents, cannot accept any responsibility in connection with Visa Applications and the normal cancellation policy, for registration fees and hotel deposits, will apply in the event that a delegate is unable to attend the convention due to late submission of their visa application and/or rejection of same.
