Dr Colin Veach
Dr Colin Veach is Lecturer in Medieval History at the University of Hull. Having graduated from Loyola University in Maryland (BA), King’s College London (MA) and Trinity College Dublin (PhD), he was elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2013. A proponent of transnational history, his work seeks to place the British and Irish experience in a broader European context. His book, Lordship in Four Realms: The Lacy Family, 1166-1241 (Manchester, 2014) analysed the aristocratic lordship in England, Ireland, Wales and Normandy. He is currently working on a book entitled Lordship and Empire: English Rule in Ireland, 1169-1254.
